Cheryl Burke’s Vibrant Night at iHeartRadio Music Festival Celebrates New Beginnings

Cheryl Burke, the renowned Dancing With the Stars alum, 39, showcased her love for music and embraced the spirit of new beginnings at the iHeartRadio Music Festival in Las Vegas. This lively event took place one year after Cheryl finalized her divorce from ex-husband Matthew Lawrence, marking a significant chapter in her life.

Cheryl Burke took to Instagram to capture her exciting festival experience, sharing delightful videos of herself and her close friend, Jana Kramer, enthusiastically grooving to the timeless hits of TLC, including classics like “Waterfalls” and “Creep.” However, what truly caught the attention of fans and media was her spirited rendition of TLC’s iconic track, “No Scrubs.”

On her Instagram grid, Cheryl Burke playfully captioned her post, writing, “Wait, I like this song 🤭😅 no scrubs plz.” Together with Jana Kramer, she sang along to the lyrics that humorously describe a self-absorbed man with little substance.

Adding an interesting layer to this moment was the connection between Cheryl Burke and TLC’s very own Chilli, whose real name is Rozonda Thomas. Chilli had entered a romantic relationship with Lawrence in November 2022, shortly after his divorce from Burke. Cheryl and Matthew had been together since 2017, with a brief dating period in 2007. Their journey led them to marriage in May 2018, but they officially separated in February 2022, finalizing their divorce in September of the same year.

Despite not sharing children, the couple found themselves in a legal battle over the custody of their cherished French bulldog, Ysabella. In a heartwarming victory, Cheryl Burke secured custody of Ysabella in January, a testament to her deep attachment to her furry companion, as she emotionally expressed on her “Burke in the Game” podcast.

Post-divorce, Cheryl Burke has dedicated her focus to her role as a dog mom while navigating the complexities of the dating world. In an exclusive interview, she candidly stated, “I’ll always be dating myself. Now, have I been on dates? Yes. Is there anyone to brag about? No.” She also acknowledged that her retirement from Dancing With the Stars presented a more challenging transition than her divorce. The show had been a substantial part of her life for nearly half of her years.

However, amid these personal trials, Cheryl Burke has found solace and healing through her podcast, “Sex Lies and Spray Tans.” She shared, “This has been the worst divorce because…though it was my choice, it doesn’t matter. This was a part of my life [for] almost half of my life. I think doing this podcast, though, is helping me grieve in a weird way.”

Looking ahead, the upcoming season of Dancing With the Stars marks the first since Cheryl Burke retired in November 2022, concluding her remarkable journey on the show after 26 cycles. In contrast, Lawrence and Chilli’s romance continues to flourish, with the couple openly sharing their happiness on Instagram since December 2022.

A source close to the couple disclosed, “Chilli has this permanent smile on her face; she’s so happy and telling everyone she really likes Matthew. He’s equally smitten, and it’s very clear to everyone around them that what they have together has a huge amount of potential.”
