Free At-Home Covid Tests Return in US - Stay Prepared!

The US has restarted its free at-home Covid-19 testing program to combat the winter surge in cases.

The CDC reports a recent increase in Covid hospitalizations across the country.

These tests can identify new virus strains present in several US states.

Each person can request up to four free rapid antigen tests.

The program initially launched in January 2022 but temporarily ended in 2023 due to supply conservation efforts.

Hospitalizations increased by about 8% from the previous week, with over 20,000 cases in early September.

The tests are usable until the end of 2023, with instructions for verifying extended expiration dates.

The Biden administration also invested $600 million in domestic Covid-19 test manufacturers to provide 200 million tests.
