Serrano Dominates Palm Desert in Homecoming Victory 


Homecoming Triumph 

After a challenging 1-3 start to the season and three consecutive road games, the Serrano football team returned home with a vengeance. 

Defensive Prowess 

Serrano's defense displayed relentless pressure on the quarterback, shutting down Palm Desert's passing game and preventing any scoring opportunities. 

Fast Start 

Energized by a passionate home crowd, Serrano's defense forced a quick three and out, leading to a 60-yard touchdown drive highlighted by junior Trevor McSween's ground game. 

Balanced Rushing Attack 

Serrano's offense thrived on a diverse rushing attack, with four different players contributing touchdowns, including Carlos Amplayo, who found the endzone twice. 

Amplayo's Heroics 

Senior running back Carlos Amplayo led the charge with 114 rushing yards and two touchdowns, including a spectacular 35-yard run in the third quarter. 

Defensive Standouts 

Jhasi Edgerson and Odis Hammer spearheaded Serrano's defense, disrupting Palm Desert's passing game and securing a crucial interception. 

Impressive Stats 

Serrano showcased their dominance with 65 total rushing yards on five touchdowns and held Palm Desert to a mere 31.8% completion rate. 

Looking Ahead 

Serrano now heads into a bye week before entering Mojave River League play, facing strong opponents, including teams ranked in CalPreps' top 150.
